Based in Malaysia, the Data Protection Officer will lead independent governance, monitoring, and compliance initiatives under the Personal Data Protection Act across regional shared services. In this position, you will establish risk management frameworks, conduct impact assessments, and oversee incident response procedures. Additionally, you will serve as the primary liaison with regulatory authorities while collaborating with enterprise privacy teams.
หน้าที่ความรับผิดชอบ / Responsibilities
- Oversee organizational compliance with the Malaysia Personal Data Protection Act and internal privacy guidelines.
- Establish and manage data protection impact assessments while promoting privacy-by-design standards across business units.
- Coordinate personal data breach investigations, maintain incident registries, and manage regulatory notifications.
- Handle data subject access, correction, and consent withdrawal requests within statutory timelines.
- Evaluate third-party vendor privacy controls and ensure appropriate contractual safeguards are enforced.
- Serve as the primary contact for regulatory authorities and deliver internal data privacy training programs.
คุณสมบัติ / Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Law, Information Technology, Information Security, Risk Management, or related field.
- Strong working knowledge of the Malaysia Personal Data Protection Act 2010 and privacy standards.
- Demonstrated background in data privacy, legal compliance, risk governance, or information security.
- Experience with conducting Data Protection Impact Assessments and handling privacy incident response.
- Professional credentials such as CIPP/A, CIPP/E, CIPM, CISSP, or CISM are preferred.
