Using AI to Create Content: From Idea to Post in 10 Minutes
A workflow using ChatGPT, Claude and Canva to go from idea to ready post in about 10 minutes, with sample prompts, a weekly plan and cautions.
A small bakery has one owner who bakes, takes orders and posts on the page every day. By evening they are staring at the screen wondering what to post. If that sounds like you, AI can help a lot, not by thinking for you, but by acting as an assistant that produces first drafts faster. This is a practical workflow; once you are used to it, one post takes about 10 minutes.
What an AI content workflow is
It means breaking content work into short steps and letting AI help with each one, such as ideas, drafts and visuals, while you make the decisions and add your brand's personality at every step. Common tools are ChatGPT or Claude for text and Canva for graphics and video.
Workflow: from idea to post in about 10 minutes
Minutes 1 to 3: ideas
Give the AI full context. The clearer you are, the more usable the ideas.
Suggest 5 content ideas for a [type of shop] posting on [platform]. The target audience is [audience]. Tone: [fun/serious/cute]. Avoid topics that typical shops post all the time.
Pick an idea you have a real story for, such as behind the scenes of a new recipe. It will be more interesting than a broad idea the AI suggests.
Minutes 3 to 6: caption
Write a caption about [topic] in a [tone] voice, [x] lines long, with 3 to 5 hashtags, ending with a call to action to message us. Give me 3 versions with different openings.
Choose the closest version and edit it into your own voice, such as the sign-off your shop always uses or the way your followers are used to being addressed.
Minutes 6 to 8: graphics
- Choose a Canva template that matches your brand tone
- Add the key message from the caption, no more than one sentence
- Use AI features to adjust the layout or create illustrations where suitable
- Export in the right size for the platform, such as vertical for Reels or TikTok
Minutes 8 to 10: short video (optional)
- Have AI help write a 30-second script: hook, content and a closing CTA
- Use real clips from your shop first, adding stock footage only where needed
- Add subtitles, since many people watch with the sound off
Plan a whole week of content at once
Use AI to draft a content calendar, then adjust it to your shop's rhythm. A sample structure:
- Monday: tips or knowledge related to your products
- Tuesday: behind the scenes
- Wednesday: product showcase as a carousel
- Thursday: real customer reviews (ask permission before using them)
- Friday: promotion or CTA
AI does not replace your creativity. It helps turn your ideas into posts faster.
Watch out for
- Always check before posting: AI can get facts wrong, such as prices, ingredients or promotion terms
- Do not let AI invent reviews or praise: fake reviews destroy trust
- Mind image rights: use images from permitted sources and check your tool's terms for AI-generated images
- Do not paste customer data: customer names, phone numbers or chats should not go into AI tools
- Keep your brand personality: if every post reads like AI wrote it, people scroll past
